The Waste and Environment, Programme and Resources Team are recruiting an Environment & Waste Management Technician (Data). The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and validating waste and environmental data and processing associated invoices, inputting complex financial data into tailored spreadsheets, and producing performance management statistics.
About the Role
Working in a small, friendly team, you'll contribute towards the successful collation and processing of waste data, ensuring the County Council has the information it needs in order to fulfil its statutory duties as a Waste Disposal Authority.
You will be responsible for managing data from a selection of the Council's contractors, making sure that we have data returns in good time, to enable the processing invoices.
The successful applicant will be competent in Microsoft Excel, and will have the opportunity to learn how to use our bespoke software systems.
The work would suit someone with transferable data management skills. Good communications skills are important, and a background in waste management would be advantageous.
About You
To apply for this post, you must have:
1. GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
2. BTEC National, NVQ3 or equivalent Level 3 qualification
3. Competency in the use of databases, spreadsheets, word processing including Microsoft Office
4. Attention to detail to ensure accurate recording of information
5. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
6. Be able to demonstrate tact but be assertive when required
7. Be able to work effectively alone or as part of a team
