Service Consultant – Automotive Industry
Location: Shrewsbury, SY1
Salary: £27,500 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (up to 45 hours per week with a 1-hour unpaid lunch)
Contract: Full-time and part-time candidates considered
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Consultant to join a well-established automotive business in Shrewsbury. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong customer service background and a passion for the motor industry.
The Role:
As a Service Consultant, you will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service, handling enquiries professionally, and keeping customers informed about the status of their vehicles. You will also be responsible for obtaining customer authorisation for additional work and documenting warranty claims in line with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring all interactions are professional and efficient.
* Interpret customer requirements and communicate them effectively to the workshop team.
* Review and send vehicle health check (eVHC) reports and CitNow videos to customers, following up on any additional work identified.
* Manage courtesy car allocations, conducting driving licence checks and recording vehicle movement.
* Handle costing and invoicing of completed work, including fleet bookings via 1 Link.
* Adhere to customer satisfaction and mystery shop programmes set by manufacturers.
* Conduct follow-ups to increase workshop bookings and promote upsell products, including service plans, extended warranties, and accessories.
* Ensure all data handling complies with GDPR regulations.
* Maintain health and safety standards at all times.
