* OLE
* Signalling
* Traction & Rolling Stock
* Track
As an apprentice with Colas Rail, you will be enrolled on our Apprenticeship Programme as an Apprentice Traction and Rolling Stock Engineer and can expect to work closely with our experienced engineers and management to gain the skills needed to help us improve the UK rail systems.
As part of your apprenticeship scheme, you will attend block release training to learn the more advanced skills of your technical specialism. Throughout your programme, we will support you with all the technical training necessary to become a competent engineering technician. We will give you the opportunity to continuously learn and develop your skills and knowledge, with the goal of helping you achieve Engineering Technician status with a relevant professional institution.
What I will be Focused on as a Traction and Rolling Stock Apprentice?
Throughout your apprenticeship journey, you will work to gain relevant skills for your role and deliver against the apprenticeship scheme's Route to Competence. You will receive immersive and hands-on experience within your discipline to support this development. You will need to be motivated, curious, and enthusiastic to learn.
Your role will be to make a strong contribution to your team and support your colleagues across key projects to gain and develop your experience. Through tailored experience and training, you will develop an in-depth understanding and knowledge of your subject area, working on live projects on site, and getting on-the-job training and competence development.

About You - Person Specification
For all our Apprenticeship Programmes, we are looking for a minimum of:
* Minimum of a Grade C / 4 in Maths and English
* You are able to drive or will have completed your driving test by August 2025
* You will be able to collaborate as part of a team
* You have good verbal and written communication skills
* Be comfortable with working nights and weekends
* You show an interest and drive to be part of the Rail Industry and Colas Rail
* You can work independently and in a team using your own initiative
