This is an ideal opportunity for an ST3 or above (or equivalent, including CCT holder/equivalent) to work and gain experience in a medium sized District General Hospital with some tertiary services, including level 3 neonatal unit and an Endometriosis Centre.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to cover the labour ward out of hours under the supervision of a Consultant on call who is resident until 11pm weekdays, and non-resident during night hours. There will be opportunities to develop a special interest in a number of subspecialist areas in obstetrics and gynaecology.
This is a replacement post for a 12 month fixed term period extendable to 24 months after a 9 month review with Clinical Lead and Service Manager.
Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will participate in the middle-grade doctors rota covering all aspects of the specialty including but not limited to labour ward, elective caesarean section lists, emergency gynaecology, elective gynaecology theatres and out-of-hours cover.
Person Specification
* Full GMC registration, MBBS or equivalent GMC recognised qualification, MRCOG part 1
* Good leadership skills
* Demonstrable experience at being able to work at an equivalent RCOG ST3 level
