Engineering Technician We are looking to recruit a proven technician, electrical/mechanical disciplined to be part of our important team carrying out reactive and preventative maintenance on all site machinery and equipment. Working 40 hours a week on double days, our shift pattern is: two weeks on 5.30am to 1.30pm shift followed by two weeks on 1.30pm to 9.30pm. You will be required to work on call, every third rotation of lates. (On call will include two consecutive weekends in 12). The successful candidate will have completed their NVQ Level 3 multi skilled apprenticeship electrically bias. Experience working on PLC and SCADA control system. Mitsubishi, Siemens, Rockwell and Fanuc. Work experience in a FMCG environment (food and beverage would be an advantage). Steam boiler experience ideally trained to BG01 or similar. Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques is preferred. Food Hygiene certificate Clean driving license Your main responsibilities will include: Responsible for carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance activities on automated brewing/distilling process plants and packaging machinery. Routine test and inspection of emergency lighting, fire alarm and L8 Document maintenance work activity on the computerised maintenance management system Providing technical advice, breakdown support and explore opportunities to make improvements to current work practices. Develop and contribute in devising preventative maintenance plans for equipment to ensure that breakdowns are minimised, and efficiencies are maximised, ensuring that equipment is kept to a high standard. Contribute to the installing and commissioning of new machinery and ensure new working methods are communicated to the Team, and basic knowledge and skills are transferred to Operatives. Always Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety regulations. Ensure compliance to food safety standards and BRC Assist in project working and continuous improvement initiatives. Support with creating, updating and administering Safe Working Procedures for the Engineering Department and support other departments in this process. What's in it for you?
