Support Assistant in a SEN School

Protocol Education are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join a SEND provision in Rainham, Essex.
The students that attend are aged between 16-19 years and have a variety of special needs, including ASD, Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH), and complex learning disabilities. A desire to assist in this area is required, but experience is not necessary!
Within this role, you will utilize your knowledge of learning support, communication skills, and creativity to develop a varied approach helping pupils with Special Education Needs and Disabilities understand the information presented and support them throughout their education.
The role:
* Supervise pupils, ensuring their safety and ability to access learning activities.
* Assist them in understanding the information presented using a variety of teaching aids.
* Aid the execution of education plans suitable to each pupil’s learning objectives.
* Build a trusting relationship with pupils and communicate according to their understanding.
* Promote class interaction and ensure pupils engage throughout the lessons.
* Create an interesting environment for students.
* Look after their physical, social, and emotional welfare.
This is a long-term, full-time position so we are looking for candidates to be available 5 days a week between the hours of 8:30am-15:30pm.
Experience in a school environment is not necessary; we would love to hear from you if you have volunteered or worked in youth clubs, theatre groups, or after-school clubs, to name a few.
