Job Description

The Head of Business Intelligence plays a crucial role in how AbbVie collects, interprets, and acts on data and insights. This role leads and manages the UK Business Intelligence Team, comprising Data Transformation (Data Analytics & Stewardship), Business Analytics, and Customer Insights & Market Research.
The Data Transformation Team focuses on understanding data scope, improving quality, and transforming data interpretation. They work closely with Data Engineers and Visualization specialists at the European level to deliver actionable insights. Business Analytics provides insightful analysis supporting planning, reporting, and strategic initiatives. Customer Insights offers product and market research data to inform decision-making and challenge strategies based on objective market data.
The Head of Business Intelligence is vital in identifying opportunities, managing demand, and ensuring strategic priorities are met. The role also involves advancing data management and customer engagement across the affiliate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Management: Recruit, develop, and manage the Business Intelligence Team; ensure timely delivery of insights; support leadership with strategic insights; optimize systems and processes; manage budgets and vendors; promote internal awareness of BI functions; collaborate with European and Global teams; foster a positive team culture.
2. Compliance: Oversee processes for market research review and approval aligning with ABPI, BHBIA, and EPhMRA standards; develop SOPs and training programs for compliance.
3. Operational Delivery: Ensure customer insights and data strategies meet business needs; manage market research quality; provide informed analysis on product performance; monitor and interpret data to support product and brand strategies.
Qualifications & Competencies
* Degree qualification
* Knowledge of CRM, SFE tools, data reporting, and project management tools
* Understanding of sales force metrics, affiliate financials, and brand planning cycles
* Experience with market research agencies and data suppliers
* Project management and data presentation skills
* Knowledge of NHS and healthcare systems
* Experience managing multiple projects and cross-functional teams
* Excellent communication skills
* Advanced Excel skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Networking skills within and outside the organization
