DeepOcean Subsea Services Limited has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager within our Aberdeen office.
As a member of the Project Management community, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging but rewarding environment as we transform and grow our business into a world-leading ocean services provider, enabling the energy transition and sustainable use of ocean resources. You will be responsible for creating delivery excellence across assigned project(s), providing certainty and confidence to key stakeholders and ensuring the project(s) objectives are met. This includes leading, guiding, and developing multi-disciplinary project teams, championing high-quality delivery, and promoting a focus on health and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Managing project proposals including determining project requirements, scope, resources, programme, and cost estimates (budgets) for delivering the project.
2. Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the key stakeholders, project team, and customer.
3. Anticipates and takes pre-emptive action to address issues and potential conflict situations that may impact project delivery.
4. Leading multi-disciplinary project teams consisting of technical/professional staff and suppliers.
5. Project P&L accountability including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination and attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing, and cash collection.
6. Achieve schedule, performance, cost, quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements of the project from contract award to Customer’s acceptance.
7. Managing changes to project scope.
8. Maintaining project deliverables, information, and records.
9. Performance management and reporting (Project & personnel).
10. Manage work being performed by project team members, assuring outputs and KPIs meet the project/business requirements.
11. Development of project management documentation including project management plans, cost estimates and forecasts, risk registers, project schedules, stakeholder registers, project organisation charts, interface registers, etc. to successfully deliver the project objectives.
12. Contract management and contract administration including change management.
13. Monitoring and controlling the project schedule, manhours, budgets, forecasts, and expenditure.
14. Monitoring and controlling project progress according to agreed measures and organisational procedures and recommending corrective action where necessary.
Qualifications:
1. Demonstrable experience and success as an unsupervised manager within Projects and an appropriate level of tertiary education in a business management and/or engineering discipline is preferable. However, candidates who possess relevant work experience in a similar role in lieu of formal qualifications may also be considered.
2. Possesses sound Project Management knowledge/approaches/methodology and experience in the delivery (from tender to completion) of projects and services in the Offshore Energy Industry. Candidates who possess relevant work experience/skills in a similar role within the Onshore Construction Industry may also be considered.
3. Membership or working towards membership of an appropriate professional institution (PMI, APM, MRICS, MCIOB) is desirable.
4. Qualification/certification or working towards qualification/certification at a professional level, for example, PRINCE2, APM PMQ (APMP) or RPP, PMP is desirable.
Personal Qualities:
1. Champions HSEQS values and processes and demonstrates Safety Leadership by developing an enduring and proactive approach on all Projects and worksites through routine engagement/worksite visits.
2. Possesses sound Project Management approaches/methodology and experience in the delivery (from tender to completion) of offshore projects and services in the Offshore Energy Industry.
3. Experience in supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation in a multinational workforce.
4. Excellent communication skills (English) both written and verbal and ability to effectively interface across multiple stakeholders.
5. Building successful relationships to enable collaboration is a key aspect of this role. Necessary interpersonal skills to interface, manage and influence a range of internal and external service providers are required.
6. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyses information skilfully.
