To deliver increased revenue and sales at Fredricks Hotel & Spa by establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with our key account contacts, groups/events and key stakeholders to maximise all revenue streams and proactively sell our events, conferences and weddings. Co-ordinate all Sales & Marketing activities with the General Manager & Sales, Marketing & Revenue function to ensure that all revenue streams are maximised and line with the long-term strategy for the hotel
BUSINESS RESPONSIBILITIES
* Work with the General Manager to analyse business performance and to assist in driving the business strategy for Sales & Marketing and to ensure the efficient and effective co-ordination of all events/functions
* Attend any communications meetings e.g. Operations, Head of Department, Morning meeting to ensure awareness of all business aspects and to ensure that all relevant departments are aware of the current offering
* Be aware of competitor products and sales activities, including website and social media sites
* Advise Inn-telligence Commercial team of relevant changes or commercial threats
* Constantly compare the hotels offering against competitors and suggest product changes to General Manager
* Make recommendations for digital content and submit weekly pictures/stories for social media
* Drive the promotional calendar for the food & Beverage operation reflecting key events throughout the year as well as required for the hotel
* Liaise with other departments to ensure the execution of events is planned, communicated and executed to promote the hotel
* Work closely with the General Manager/Sales, Marketing & Revenue team to quickly understand the key drivers and local market dynamics of the business
* Explore the revenue maximisation in all areas of the hotel i.e. rooms, Food & Beverage etc.
* Deliver hotel events sales targets through the effective management of converting opportunities and quotes to sales
* Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective corporate business, interested parties and stakeholders and convert to corporate agreements reviewing rooms product regularly
* Take a proactive approach to generating new sales enquires, taking initiative to find new clients, following up leads and referrals and looking to generate prospects and appointments within the local and regional business community
* Drive the Sales & Marketing plan for the hotel by establishing new events to support revenue maximisation
* Look after the client liaison through social media with regards to enquiries, guest feedback as well as driving promotional activities
* Assist the Sales/Marketing/Revenue Manager in managing key relationships with travel agents, group/tour operators and tourist boards
* Attend off site exhibitions, promotions and marketing events and organise trade fairs such as Wedding fairs
* Routinely work on the development of new events, promotions and channels to sales and work with local teams, central teams and clients to expedite revenue opportunities
* Conduct show arounds to sell the hotel to all potential clients
* Conduct & attend networking events that further sales enquiries
* Deliver Sales Blitz activities, cold calls, Conversion days, follow up sales leads etc. to further enquiries and convert sales
* Conduct regular competitor visits and stay ahead of the market development with regards to bedroom, conference, events and wedding bedroom and Food & Beverage
* Work closely with the Revenue Manager to maximise revenue in the way events are scheduled, taken & held
* Assist and follow up the invoicing of events, corporate contracts or any other revenue activity
* Generate Business on the Books reports, identify peak and troth periods to suggest sales & marketing initiatives in line with targets
* Liaise with third parties with regards to advertising and marketing the hotel
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR STANDARDS/ GUEST EXPERIENCE
* Be excellent all round communication skills, writing reports and making recommendations to clients and inquisitive, confident and assertive able to persuade and negotiate
* Work independently & be self-motivated, able to see opportunities for development and improvement and take these forward
* Be rigorous and thorough with strong attention to detail
* Have excellent organisational skills and be results oriented with the personal drive to succeed
* Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are in place for any co-ordination of events
* Supervise/spot-check the co-ordination of events ensuring that contractual terms are complied with and that all contracts are adhered to by either side
* Constantly monitor the guest experience from initial enquiry to post-event stage to ensure that all steps are in place with guest and revenue focus; implement/revise procedures as needed
* Ensure that all operational departments are briefed on each event in fine detail and liaise with other departments on the preparation/feedback on events to ensure that maximum guest experience is achieved
* Ensure that showaround standards across the relevant departments are trained and the standards are being delivered on each showaround
HR/TEAM DEVELOPMENT
* Maintain a happy, incentivised and engaged team
* Ensuring through regular review that every team member has development goals and a clear career path
* Ensure new starters receive the relevant induction to the hotel and the department and learn all required skills/procedures within their probation period

* Ensure all team members are well-presented and in professional attire at all times
* Mentoring and development of future stars within the department to ensure that a succession plan is in place and followed up
* Develop relationships with people in the industry to open avenues for development and outreach
ACCOUNTS & PURCHASING
* Be aware of budgetary targets and drive those
* Manage commission levels in line with budgetary targets
* Ensure that Sales & Marketing expenditure is decided with ROI in place and with the highest and profitable revenue in mind
* Payroll ensure it is recorded/approved in line with sales activity and business needs
* Raise Purchase orders for any departmental needs and follow the approval procedure
* Ensure that all products are correctly priced to achieve targets GPs without comprising guest experience
* Ensure that the team know what their revenue targets are, and help them to want to overachieve on them

* Ensure that all event billing is completed in line with accounts procedures as well as in line with contractual obligations
Health and Safety/COMPLIANCE
* Ensure that all staff receive the relevant induction training as well as any training that is legally required in a timely manner as well as Food Safety Level 2 at minimum and Allergen training
* Keep up to date with food safety legislation and implement as required
* Report/Liaise with General Manager on events that require approval for food being brought in
