Location: Leeds, Stockton-on-Tees, Elland, York
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (can be worked flexibly)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Bonus opportunity: Up to £2,400 per year (measurement based on company and personal performance)
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Water Hygiene Lead, the Water Hygiene Technician will be responsible for delivering all aspects of the water hygiene program. Tasks include taking water samples, temperatures, servicing thermostatic mixing valves, and cleaning and disinfecting systems and showers. The Water Hygiene Technician will ensure high standards of task completion, paperwork, and regulations are met at all times. The role will require mobile working from different sites across the North of England and may require participation in the out of hours on-call rota. A company vehicle, tablet, phone, and any monitoring equipment required will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
* Planned and reactive maintenance as required. Responding to all allocated helpdesk requests to ensure jobs are completed within allocated service level agreements.
* Routine water hygiene monitoring.
* Water sampling.
* TMV maintenance including cleans, temperature checks, and replacement.
* Supervision of contractors when assisting.
* Health & Safety duties; ensuring that the task is completed in a safe and legally compliant manner at all times.
* Liaising with customers on a daily basis to complete tasks and gain access to areas causing minimal disruption.
* Support other areas of the business where required.
* Keep on top of current regulations and any changes that take place.
* Checking paperwork regularly and updating tasks as required.
* Shower disinfection and cleans.
* Assist with tank cleans and system disinfections.
Skills and Attributes:

Essential:
* A satisfactory Enhanced DBS (criminal background) check.
* City and Guilds accreditation relating to ACOPL8, HSG274, HTM 04-1.
* A good understanding of Hot and Cold-water systems.
* Full Driving License, valid in the UK.
* A positive and professional attitude.
* Computer literate.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks.
* A positive approach to learning, development, and progression.
* A flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours working may be required).
* Working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice, and ability to enhance your own Health & Safety culture.
Desirable:
* First aid at work trained.
* Trade background or building knowledge.
