About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team in Darlington. This role will involve supporting a child within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) who requires additional support with their learning and development. As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the child, providing tailored support to help them thrive in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide individual support to a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with specific learning needs.
2. Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities, ensuring the child’s academic and personal development.
3. Foster a positive and nurturing environment to build the child’s confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
4. Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other professionals to implement specific learning strategies and plans.
5. Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher, ensuring that any necessary adjustments are made to support the child’s development.
6. Promote inclusion and ensure the child can fully participate in classroom activities and school life.
Key Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children, particularly within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
2. A caring and patient attitude, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of the child.
3. Understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and experience supporting children with learning difficulties would be beneficial.
4. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and staff.
5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
6. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is preferred, but not essential.
