This is an exciting opportunity working for a Tier 1 Contractor within Construction and Building. My client specializes in providing end-to-end delivery and engineering services on building projects across the UK. They are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor located in Manchester working on a major development.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor role:
1. Cost Management: Oversee and manage all financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
2. Tendering & Contracts: Lead the preparation of tender documents, perform contract negotiations, and manage procurement processes.
3. Valuation & Variations: Prepare accurate valuations, monitor progress claims, and handle variations.
4. Reporting: Generate comprehensive project reports, detailing financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
5. Client Liaison: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, acting as a primary point of contact.
6. Team Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors and support their professional growth.
7. Compliance: Ensure projects comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Experience Required for Senior Quantity Surveyor:
1. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
3. Chartered status (e.g., MRICS) or equivalent professional membership is preferred.
Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
2. Proficiency in cost management software and tools.
3. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
