Location: Woodley, Berkshire
Days & Hours: Various Hours available for Full time, Part Time or Bank. Typical shifts are Monday-Friday 7am-7pm, Sat & Sun 8am-12pm and every other Sunday 5pm-1.45am (the Sunday evening hours are to assist Denise with her Ice Hockey training). Hours will be worked in line with the rolling rota, shift availability will be discussed at telephone interview stage.
This role will be on a fixed term basis for 6 months with the possibility of extension or to become permanent.
Pay: £15.50 per hour Weekdays and £16.50 per hour Weekends.
Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work)
Driving Clients Car? Yes, Denise's wheelchair adapted vehicle.
Using Own Vehicle for work purposes? Yes, on duty and to attend trainings.
Essential Experience: Experience working with adults with trauma and an interest in therapy.
Desirable: Experience in managing spinal injury, pain and fatigue.
Pets: 2 dogs
Accommodation (while on duty): Partially adapted family home.

Your role will be to support Denise with day-to-day activities as needed. At times, this may include supporting with elements of personal care. This will also include supporting Denise with domestic tasks, assisting with the children's meals when needed, helping to build her confidence with being a mum, and supporting her with childcare as required. Your role will also include driving and supporting Denise at her Ice Hockey training and assisting with any therapy-based activities.

* Experience of working with Spinal Cord Injury (This is preferred but enthusiasm, patience and willingness to learn is desirable).
* Experience of carrying out therapy programmes.
* Ability to work additional hours as required.
* Able to work flexible hours, sometimes at short notice.
* Previous experience of using specialist equipment with disabled people.
* Experience of writing risk assessments and care plans.
* Previous experience of hoisting and use of specialist equipment with disabled people.
* Experience of carrying out physiotherapy and/or multi-sensory programmes.
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
* Experience of working with individuals who require psychological support.
* Own car – desirable.
