We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s expanding Commercial team, based in Bristol with flexible hybrid working arrangements.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a proven QS professional to step into a leadership role, overseeing the commercial delivery of key infrastructure projects. You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial strategy, managing risk, and driving value across projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the commercial management of multiple projects and work packages, ensuring compliance with company and contractual requirements.
* Provide strategic commercial guidance to project teams, contributing to effective decision-making and risk mitigation.
* Work closely with design, delivery, and supply chain teams to monitor, analyse and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
* Manage and ensure timely issue of contractual notices and correspondence under NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
* Oversee preparation, negotiation and administration of subcontracts, including performance management and relationship building.
* Take full responsibility for cost reporting, valuations, forecasting and budget management.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff, supporting their development and ensuring high performance.
* Engage directly with the client to understand business objectives and align commercial outcomes.
* Promote continuous professional development, industry awareness, and innovation within the team.
* Maintain a collaborative, proactive, and solution-focused approach across all commercial activities.
Requirements:
* Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
* Working towards or holding chartered status (RICS, CIOB, or similar).
* Extensive experience in a senior QS role within the utilities, civil engineering or MEICA sectors.
* Strong understanding and application of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
* Proven ability to lead and develop commercial teams.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
