Position Summary
Group Summary:
The Talent Management group within the Human Resources team is responsible for leading the NBA's enterprise talent management strategies and programs to drive employee engagement and retention, increase productivity and performance, and build a strong pipeline of talent for key roles and future business needs. The group is responsible for performance management, talent development, employee engagement, leadership development, coaching, as well as leading the organization's competency development initiatives as it relates to key professional skills that help to build teams and advance the mission of the NBA on a global scale.
Essential Functions and Job Summary:
The Talent Development and Engagement Lead executes a range of individual, team and organization:wide initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, development, and performance. This role is critical to fostering a high:performance and inclusive culture by delivering impactful learning, development, and engagement initiatives. The role is responsible for the design and implementation of curated talent development programs, employee engagement strategies, performance and change management training, and team effectiveness interventions.
The ideal candidate is a self:sufficient professional with a consistent track record of developing and growing talent in a fast:paced environment. You have a strong grasp of modern approaches to talent management and employee engagement, and are grounded in core principles of adult learning. You have experience building programs that develop soft skills, management and leadership capability, and team effectiveness. You are as adept at building scalable programs as you are targeted, bespoke interventions. You're willing to extend yourself to support your colleagues and are able to build strong, productive relationships with HR partners and a diverse range of organizational stakeholders. Ultimately, you are passionate about helping organizations develop talent and capabilities, and are ready to roll:up your sleeves to be involved in all aspects of the talent and learning ecosystem.
You will be expected to work from our New York (645 5th Ave.) office 4 days/week with the option to work remotely 1 day/week. Occasional global travel may be required.
Major Responsibilities
Talent Development:
- Lead the design and delivery of numerous development programs targeted at early/mid:career talent and people managers globally. These programs will leverage multiple modalities (e.g. e:learning, in:person, social, job:aids) and draw on external vendors and partnerships to support.
- Lead experiential and relationship:based learning programs including job rotations, mentorship and sponsorship.
- Support employees and people managers in building robust development plans in service of elevating performance and fostering career growth.
Employee Engagement:
- Manage our global employee engagement survey and follow:up pulse survey strategy, partnering with key groups across HR (including HR Communications, People Analytics, and HRBPs) to design and administer surveys and help the organization turn results into action.
