Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Harrogate
Axcis are currently working with a variety of mainstream primary schools in and around Harrogate, North Yorkshire that accommodate pupils with a range of learning and behavioural difficulties. We are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants to work on a full and part-time basis Monday to Friday to support pupils aged 5 – 11 on a 121 and whole classroom basis with their learning needs and life development skills.
Ideally, you will have experience of working as an SEMH / SEND Teaching Assistant in similar settings and have experience of behaviour management, de-escalation techniques and restraint.
The role will include:
1. Providing pupils with support in the classroom and with making decisions and choices.
2. Enabling students to learn, grow and develop to their full potential.
3. Show compassion, care, and respect.
4. Treating everyone as an equal.
5. Supporting your colleagues.
6. Being resilient.
7. Preparing the classroom for each lesson.
8. Supporting the class teacher with delivering planned lessons.
