The Cyber Security Technician is responsible for responding to security threats, attacks, and investigations. The role involves operating security tools, cooperating with Security Operations Centre (SOC) service providers in incident management, troubleshooting cybersecurity issues, and maintaining knowledge of the latest threats and techniques. The role also involves supporting the organization in securing information systems.
This role offers hybrid working, with travel to the nearest GKN Aerospace site and twice-yearly global travel.
How You'll Contribute
* Follow all HSE rules and regulations, wearing PPE as required.
* Assist IT/OT teams in monitoring threats and vulnerabilities.
* Maintain global cyber controls, operations, and services (24x7).
* Escalate, respond, resolve, and report cybersecurity incidents and corrective actions.
* Ensure high service levels, technical controls, analytics, and operations support for cybersecurity tools.
* Work effectively as part of a multi-location team.
* Develop and maintain cybersecurity control processes, standards, and architectures.
* Assess IT/OT environments, including systems, networks, databases, and applications.
* Support maintenance, administration, break/fix remediation, and performance monitoring.
* Engage in change management processes, including assessment, operational readiness, and lifecycle management of cybersecurity solutions.
What You'll Bring
Essential:
⦁ Relevant Degree or equivalent experience
⦁ Minimum 5 years’ experience in high availability & high performance infrastructure in a global manufacturing organization, in security, systems, or network administration roles
⦁ Experience working in a virtual, multicultural, global environment
⦁ Extensive experience in information security and IT risk management
⦁ Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security
⦁ Knowledge of Security Information and Event Management
⦁ Understanding of system architectures and vulnerability risk assessment
Desirable:
⦁ Knowledge of aerospace regulations and export control requirements
⦁ Ability to work with stakeholders on security implications of business changes
⦁ ITIL certification
⦁ Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Data Protection regulations
⦁ Background in network and firewall administration, CCNA certification
⦁ Additional certifications like Security+, CEH, or CISSP
