A logistics distribution and supply chain client of ours in the Basildon area is recruiting a Junior Operations Administrator to join their team. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm and paying £24,000 per annum depending on experience.
Key Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Booking and supervision of European shipments, groupage and express.
2. Ensuring clients' needs and expectations are met and, if possible, exceeded in a timely and cost-effective manner.
3. Booking and handling European Groupage and express consignments, invoicing for the department in a timely manner.
4. Negotiating with suppliers for competitive prices.
5. Daily management of the Road Freight daily profit spreadsheet.
6. Liaising with the accounts department with any sales/cost queries.
7. Filing.
8. Liaising with our overseas/UK agents.
9. Updating customer portals in a timely manner.
Skills and Experience required:
1. 1+ Year office experience.
2. Proficient with the Microsoft packages.
3. Excellent communication skills & confident talking to customers on the phone.
4. GCSE's in Maths & English graded 5 (C) and above.
