Internal Redeployment Only - Lecturer in Women’s Health Psychology School of Psychology Women’s health is an exciting emerging area of health and applied psychology focused on health conditions that affect women disproportionately or differently. The post holder will deliver high-quality research and research-led teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and support our expanding research interests in women’s health, and other areas aligned with Health and Applied Psychology. The successful candidate will join the School of Psychology and the Women’s Health Research Wales centre. As such, the post is open to candidates with strong motivation to enhance impactful research, innovation, co-production and teaching in women’s health, health and clinical psychology. The role will include research, teaching, research supervision from undergraduate to doctorate level, placement supervision, and supporting collaboration within the School and pan-Wales via the Centre. The role will also include individual research interests in priority thematic areas of the Women’s Health Research Centre Wales, including rare and stigmatised health conditions, underserved communities of women, early onset and life-long conditions, and health(y) transitions across the lifespan. Research To conduct research within the areas of women’s health and psychology, and contribute to the overall internationally recognised research performance of the School and University, by the production of measurable outputs including bidding for funding, publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals, international conferences and/or other research outputs, and the recruitment and supervision of research staff and postgraduate/MSc research students. To independently develop and co-produce with stakeholders research objectives, projects or proposals for own or joint research including research funding, acting as a PI as required. To develop research networks through regular national/international conference/seminar presentations and stakeholder and community engagement. To participate in School research activities. Teaching To independently contribute to module and curriculum development and lead modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, inspiring students. To design and deliver high-quality research-led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. To carry out other forms of scholarship associated with teaching duties (setting and marking paper and providing constructive feedback to students), administration, participation in committee work, and the pastoral care of students of Cardiff University, as applies to the post. To supervise the work of students including the supervision of Undergraduate and Master’s students, the supervision of PGR’s and acting as a PGR progress review panel member as required. To act as a Personal Tutor and provide pastoral support to students. Postgraduate Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, or equivalent qualification or experience. Knowledge, Skills and Experience An established expertise and proven portfolio of co-produced research experience in women’s health and at least one of the following research fields: health or applied psychology rare and stigmatised health conditions, underserved communities of women, early onset and life-long conditions or prevention and health(y) transitions social determinants of health Significant teaching experience at a high level of quality at undergraduate/postgraduate level. Growing national reputation within academic field Proven substantial record of publications in national journals and/or other research outputs.
