We have a unique opportunity available to join our fantastic Business Development Team. We are looking for someone who will be instrumental in communicating our message and marketing our organisation’s activity and fundraising campaigns to help tackle social isolation and loneliness in Scotland.

The role:
As the Media and Communications Manager you will be an ambassador for communicating and articulating the life-changing impact of Carr Gomm’s work and be committed to ensuring we refine and develop our messaging both internally and externally. Your expert storytelling and creative writing will help to clearly articulate the life-changing impact of Carr Gomm’s work and you will be committed to ensuring we refine and develop our messaging both internally and externally, using a blend of both traditional and social media platforms to raise our profile and take our message and values to new younger audiences across Scotland.
You will be acutely aware of the gaps in society within which the crippling issues of loneliness and isolation remain, fuelling your determination to increase awareness, drive on our fundraising campaigns and inspire greater involvement and awareness to help increase our income growth.
This is a dynamic role in which you will never settle for ‘good enough’ but will always prioritise effectively in an ever-changing environment. You will appreciate that there is always capacity to innovate, improve, develop and stretch targets in the pursuit of a more equitable society in which people can lead full and positive lives as active citizens.
Success in this role includes:
1. Effectively communicating strategic messages to target audiences leading to an increase in well-informed job applicants, donors, colleagues and customers.
2. Supporting with tender and grant submissions
3. Developing and managing our communications and marketing campaigns in-line with our Strategic Plan, including overseeing Carr Gomm’s social media strategy, website and marketing materials to proactively promote our services.
4. Being aware of, and positioning us to influence national social care policies and initiatives
5. Effectively working with colleagues from throughout the organisation to inform internal and external communications.

We are seeking a proactive learner, one with a flair for engaging with, and relating to people, who is enthused by our work and shares our values. You will be passionate about developing the opportunities for people we support to represent their own views, and the organisation, across a range of settings.
You will be solution-focused, patient and positive, working consistently to achieve and be curious. You will have the excellent writing skills and confidence to pull together findings from your work and make recommendations about the next steps and future development.
