Due to the increased volume of project activity, we are urgently looking for a Service Technician to join our talented team based at our Darlington facility. lease note that this role will be offered on an initial 4 month temporary contract and candidates will ideally available at short notice. This is an ONSHORE only based role. Purpose of Role The role of the Service Technician is to assist with the assembly, testing, delivery, commissioning, installation and repair of products for the subsea sector. This includes assisting completion of all production documentation. Works are to be conducted within the workshop environment and on site at our client’s facilities/vessels working with light and heavy engineering fabrications. Promotion of the company’s design & build quality without compromising safety, code, regulations and legislation. Key Responsibilities Assist with assembly of complex structural assemblies being able to read and interpret technical drawings for assembly Good skills on the use of basic hand tools and machinery Assist with installation and fault finding tasks when conducting service work. Identify areas for Continuous Improvement. Maintenance of Workshop Equipment, Tools and Environment Promotion of Quality, efficiency and high standard of work ethic. To assist the engineering team conducting tasks as detailed by the Head of Construction. Qualifications Level 2 or 3 Qualification in an Engineering discipline Experience At least 3 years in similar fitting role within an engineering manufacturing environment. Personnel Competencies: Mechanical fitting skills Rigging, overhead crane competence Accuracy and attention to detail Calm under pressure and the ability to meet tight deadlines Multi tasks easily Team worker Good communication skills Good customer service skills. Ability to work on your own or as part of a small team Essential Requirements: Valid driving license Flexible to work additional hours if required Beneficial Requirements: Knowledge of the following would be viewed as advantageous: Working at heights Welding and fabrication skills, MIG, stick welding for steel products Hydraulic circuits and installation Basic electrical schematics and installation Hydrostatic testing Component surface treatment techniques and applications
