Daily Rate: £89 – £105
Overview
The Academic Mentor role is tailored for individuals who can support pupils in boosting academic performance across key subjects. You will work directly with students needing extra academic guidance and collaborate with subject teachers to reinforce learning objectives. This position is ideal for enthusiastic graduates or experienced support staff seeking to make a direct impact on academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Targeted Interventions: Work with small groups or individual students to provide tailored academic support in subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
* Resource Preparation: Assist teachers with the creation and adaptation of teaching materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.
* Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to teachers and parents.
* Support in Lesson Delivery: Help facilitate class activities and support students during lessons to maintain focus and enhance understanding.
* Liaison Role: Work as the bridge between teaching staff and pupils to ensure that academic challenges are addressed in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience in education support.
* Strong academic background with the ability to inspire and motivate pupils.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible language.
* Experience in a school or educational setting, particularly with intervention or support programmes, is preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
