Part of a key team that sits at the heart of RHS operations, the Assistant Print Buyer will play a crucial role in producing printed material to the highest quality standard, providing the best value for charitable money and helping to deliver the RHS’s sustainability goals.
Working collaboratively with RHS colleagues and external print supply chain partners, you will provide day-to-day print buying services for a diverse range of printed material, including leaflets and brochures; posters, banners, and garden signage; invitations and certificates; and gift boxes.
You will also be responsible for managing the print and paper buying for RHS Show Guides for a range of external and internal shows, including the world-famous RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Passionate about print or keen to develop your knowledge and experience of print buying, you will be a person who thrives on working across multiple projects simultaneously. You will:
1. Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the print buying process.
2. Be highly organised, methodical and proactive, with experience of working to multiple deadlines and managing your own and departmental workloads.
3. Be able to develop and maintain a wide range of supplier relationships and work closely with RHS colleagues across multiple departments.
4. Be an excellent communicator.
5. Have an excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Have an ability to think creatively to resolve problems.
7. Have an interest in print sustainability and delivering reductions in carbon emissions.
8. Relish the opportunity to deliver the highest standards of customer service across all that we do.
To work for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is to join a thriving charity, whose mission is to be there for everyone on their lifelong adventure with gardening. Everything we do is built on the transformational power of gardening – and the benefits it brings to people, places and our planet.
And we couldn’t do this without our people. We’re proud of the knowledge, enthusiasm and ideas that each one of our team members brings. From working across our social media channels, to volunteering in the RHS Gardens, from serving customers in our garden centres to running national marketing campaigns, we believe that every member of the RHS team should have the opportunity to make a difference.
The RHS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk and expects all personnel to share in this commitment.
