Position: Technical Lead, Rotary (H145)
Location: Glasgow
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 40 Hours per week
Within our Engineering Team in Glasgow, we are pleased to invite internal applications for the position of Technical Lead for Rotary. Working in partnership with the Engineering Manager and Deputy Engineering Manager, the Technical Lead, Rotary will be responsible and accountable for the daily management of all technical aspects of the rotary aircraft being handled by the Glasgow facility while ensuring the delivery of the highest levels of productivity and customer interface across all platforms.
You will be an experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineer, with proven skills in shift management and high levels of competence in customer engagement. Also, you must have the H145 type rating.
Responsibilities:
1. Delivery of the daily production/safety brief of the team at shift start with escalation meeting/reporting to leadership at daily meetings, as applicable.
2. Working closely with the Engineering manager and the Certifying staff, ensuring the team is suitably allocated to tasks as per the production plan and aircraft needs, but also have ability to adjust accordingly to dynamic changes as they occur to produce the most productive outcome.
3. Ensuring that the team operates in compliance with Health and Safety requirements and quality procedures with a clear focus on well-being of the team.
4. Responsible for the shift’s compliance with company practices, time booking accuracy, attendance, and appearance.
5. Accountable for timely reporting of quality and safety events, assessment and closing actions of quality and safety findings delegated by the quality team to you.
6. Working closely with the team, ensuring full and detailed shift handover reports are produced and delivered prior to shift end.
7. Take ownership of aircraft delivery timescales and escalating this to senior management when unable to resolve at the established daily report.
8. Responsible and accountable for the timely resolving of all technical matters related to the rotary aircraft being handled by the facility.
9. Understand, act on and escalate any materials/parts requirements to the appropriate supply chain management to ensure an uninterrupted flow of required items to ensure the smooth continuance of rotorcraft maintenance.
10. Manage and maintain a detailed schedule and tracking system using any tools available to provide details, clarity and timelines rotorcraft being handled by the facility.
11. Will respond if necessary to help the line engineers with defect rectification as required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
1. Holds an unrestricted UK CAA Part 66 Licence, category B1 or B2 and C ratings with H145 type rating.
2. 8 years’ experience of Aircraft base and line MX environment.
3. 5 Years’ Rotary Aircraft aviation experience.
4. Ability to lead and line manage a team of skilled Engineers/Mechanics and support them fully as required to achieve the objectives.
5. Ability to react to demand changes and manage the team accordingly.
6. Manage multiple major Base MX inputs.
7. Personable with ability to interact with all skill sets and abilities with the MRO team.
