We are now recruiting for a Shunter for our Minworth site on a Full time and Permanent position.
Shift: 4ON 4OFF Days - 06:00am - 18:00pm.
Salary: £31,481 per annum.
Job Description
* Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
* Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
* Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
* Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
* Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
* Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
* Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
* Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
* Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
* Monitoring services / MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
* Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
* Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
* Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
* Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard
Qualifications
* Must possess a C+E licence with recent Class 1 experience.
* Attention to detail / accurate
* Ability to work without direct supervision
* Adaptable and methodical approach to work / training
* Conscientious and reliable
* Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
* Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
