Salary: Grade 6, £28,624 - £31,586 per annum.

Your role:
You will be responsible for providing financial support to individuals who have an identified need.
You will act as the corporate appointee on behalf of the DWP, maximising, managing and maintaining all benefits and associated thresholds for your allocated clients. You will be expected to manage your own caseload which will have a variety of clients, such as community based clients, those who may reside in residential care or supported accommodation, working alongside social workers, care support staff and various professionals to ensure the client is at the centre of every decision made.
About you:
In this role you will need:
* Significant knowledge about DWP benefits and associated thresholds.
* Relevant experience of working with vulnerable groups.
* A good knowledge of Adult social care.
* Working around the borough, and able to visit clients in their homes.
* Excellent skills in using multiple IT systems and software.
* Experience of working with client’s finances.
* Good organisational skills.
* Able to demonstrate knowledge of working within financial procedures.
* Ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines.
* Excellent interpersonal skill, able to demonstrate ability to engage, establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.

This unique role within adult social care manages finances for over 500 clients. We work closely with each client, social workers and care professionals to enable people to live the best life possible.
We complete My Life My Money sessions with our clients, which allows clients to express their aspirations and we support them to achieved this, by working closely with stakeholders.
There is great job satisfaction from the team, knowing they are helping to support clients aspirations. Alongside of the above, maximising a clients benefits allows them to live a better quality of live. We are based at Wigan Life Centre South, however you will also be expected to visit people in their home and attend any relevant meetings.
