The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Driver to join our team in Dronfield. This role is responsible for the safe and compliant loading of site Accommodation to and from site, involving stacking and de-stacking of units and staircases.
Main Responsibilities:
* Conduct vehicle health, safety and compliance checks as required and ensure documentation/systems are updated accurately and in a timely fashion
* Carry out routine checks on vehicles such as oil, tyre and brake checks
* Inspect and clean the vehicle in line with company policy
* Complete the appropriate documentation as required under the company policies such as fuel receipts, mileage logs
* Ensure that the vehicle is mechanically sound and road worthy
* Ensure the load is secured safely and within the weight capacity of the vehicle
* Perform basic repairs in the event of an accident or breakdown while in transit
* Liaise with the Depot Manager / Hire team to organise the most efficient, cost-effective and safest route plan (inbound & outbound)
* Adhere to the rules of the road, keeping informed of road closures, accidents, and potential diversions
* Ensure safe receipt of equipment delivery to the customer is acknowledged via the necessary system/process
* Provide guidance and advice to customers, answer the question and resolve queries
* Flag any risks or potential issues to the Workshop Supervisor and Depot Manager
* Keep up to date with continued professional development and compliant training.
About You
You will hold a full HGV Class 2 driving license with no endorsements or penalties. Ideally, you will have a completed CPC and hold a tachograph driver’s card. Previous experience in operating a lorry loader crane from 31 tonnes up to 66 tonnes is desirable, along with CPCS and/or ALLMI lorry loader operator qualifications.
