What you will be doing
As a Principal Sales Engineer, you will be the subject matter expert for Energy Storage in the Africa and European Union (EU) regions, including expertise in the technical design of systems and identification of the business models that support the economic case to deploy storage.
The ideal candidate has BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering and experience with the energy storage markets.
As the Principal Sales Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
* Drive significant business growth by leading the creation of strategic sales proposals and managing complex customer requirements. Influence bid outcomes with advanced expertise, shaping the direction of business development and market positioning.
* Exhibit comprehensive knowledge across multiple product lines, utilizing extensive experience to lead strategic proposal initiatives.
* Champion change by leading the adoption of advanced proposal approaches, setting new benchmarks for excellence in sales support.
* Lead by example in proposal development, coaching and guiding teams to achieve excellence in bid preparation and strategy.
* Act as a key liaison between the business and customers, driving strategic communications that influence long-term partnerships.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
* BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
* Minimum three (3) years of experience with energy storage projects and products.
* Strong understanding of utility generation project development process.
* Experience with industrial control methods and SCADA systems is considered a benefit.
* Able to read and understand system schematics, single-line drawings, and layout drawings.
* Excellent written and oral skills. Must be a proven and competent English writer, able to create grammatically correct and properly structured English proposal documents, as well as being able to present technical solutions and products in a consistent manner to customers.
* Competent with ACAD or equivalent drafting tools is considered a benefit.
* Understanding of CE, UL, IEEE, IEC and NEC standards as applicable to the local region.
* Knowledgeable in utility systems and interconnection requirements.
* Passion for innovation, ability to adapt to fast changing market demands, working independently and as a team member.
* Willingness to take ownership and produce results.
* Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking skills and a strong work ethic.
* Energetic and enthusiastic approach.
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers in the area. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
