A property developer is looking for a Community Engagement and Communications Manager to join one of their major residential schemes.
This role ensures that local communities and partners play an active role in shaping development plans, staying informed, and engaging throughout the project. As a key representative, you will lead community communications during planning, foster partnerships, and support initiatives related to health, transport, ecology, climate, and jobs. Additionally, you will help manage the delivery of community infrastructure and address issues affecting both new and existing communities.
As a communications professional, you will create engaging content across various platforms, build the project's reputation, and promote its identity. Your work will support the planning process, generate interest, and lay the foundation for future place marketing and sales. Collaborating with regional and national teams, you will contribute to best practices, innovation, and strategic development while receiving marketing and branding support.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, key groups, and stakeholders, ensuring open dialogue and engagement. Developing and implementing inclusive communication strategies will be central to your role, ensuring key messages are effectively shared within an agreed budget.
Supporting consultation and planning events will be a key focus, ensuring they are clear, inclusive, and aligned with the project's brand and values. You will also work with project managers to engage communities in planning vital infrastructure such as schools, healthcare facilities, and sports amenities, which may include involvement in local boards and governance roles.
Creating compelling content across newsletters, PR, social media, and other channels will be essential. You will also coordinate in-house and agency support for PR, media relations, design, and digital communication while building strong connections with partner communications teams and local media.
Innovation will be encouraged as you develop new engagement approaches, share best practices across projects, and contribute to continuous improvement. Supporting new communities will also be a priority, ensuring they have access to facilities, information, and assistance while coordinating with teams and partners to address emerging issues.

You should be able to adapt communication styles for different audiences and translate complex information into clear, engaging messages. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently will be essential for success in this role
