We are seeking an experienced and motivated enforcement officer who can respond appropriately to requests for information and deal with complaints from Elected Members, residents and licence holders. Being able to work closely with multi-agency partners is also an important part of this role. You would be asked to work with colleagues in other Councils and Council Departments, Cheshire Police, Home Office Immigration and Enforcement, and maintain good working relationships. You should be a strong team player who is capable of carrying out their own workload in a busy Licensing Team dealing with Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005, Hackney Carriage and Private Hire, Street Trading and Charitable Collections. You should have strong investigation skills and a good knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act 1996. Be able to compile prosecution cases and give evidence in Court. You should also be able to write and present reports to the Licensing Committee and its Sub-Committees and provide information and advice. Good communication skills and the ability to convey detailed matters or legislation are a must. The post will involve weekend and evening working, which will be undertaken as part of the normal working week.
