This underwriting role will report into the Head of Credit and will be fundamental in supporting April to grow responsibly, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and making sure the customer is at the heart of everything we do. The role offers a fast-paced environment with a real opportunity to make an impact and be involved in shaping an early-stage start-up. What will you be doing: Assessment and approval of applications and documentation. Make lending recommendations in line with April’s Credit Policy Build and maintain relationships with intermediaries to ensure long term customer satisfaction & loyalty Be fully conversant in April’s product & criteria offering to ensure accurate information is conveyed following an inquiry on a potential customer’s eligibility Assisting in the development and delivery of system enhancements Experience required: 5 years’ experience of manual underwriting Strong understanding of FCA regulation, specifically Responsible Lending, Consumer Duty, and GDPR. Good interpersonal skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
