Deans Community High School is seeking a Pupil Support Worker to join the support team in the school.
The post holder will work as part of the school team to support learning and teaching. Under teachers' direction, they will work within the learning environment to support pupil learning, organize resources, and carry out duties related to pupil pastoral support, care, and welfare. They will promote an ethos of achievement through the development of positive working relationships and will ensure the health and safety of the young people they are working with.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer of employment is made by West Lothian Council.
