The Role
We are seeking an experienced Director or Partner-Level Employment Lawyer to join our client's dynamic and growing team.
This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a proven track record of success and a strong following or referral network. The successful candidate will have the ambition and skills to help lead and grow the team, driving business development and contributing to its strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Managing complex and high-profile employment matters for a diverse client base.
* Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
* Leading on business development initiatives to expand the team's portfolio.
* Shaping the future strategy and growth of the Employment team.
* Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
Examples of Recent Work
* Delivering comprehensive employment and HR support to one of the UK's largest supermarket retailers with a workforce of approximately 30,000 employees.
* Advising a national employer with 16,000 staff across hospitals, fitness centres, and medical facilities on employment law and HR strategy.
* Representing a national recruitment business in employment status cases involving 3,000 drivers amid 'gig economy' challenges.
* Successfully defending a PLC client in a 12-day tribunal case, including whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, and wrongful dismissal.
* Providing bespoke training on key employment skills, from grievance handling to technical legal updates.
