This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse position within the Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic.
The orthopaedic outpatient department is a very busy but interesting department which sees approximately 1000 patients per week. This total consists of orthopaedic patients i.e. patients with chronic problems such as osteo-arthritis who may need joint replacements, and trauma patients i.e. patients who have fractures, ligament injuries etc.
The range of patients seen is very varied with some specialist clinics such as paediatric hip screening, back and hand clinics taking place., We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurse to work within the clinic setting.The duties will include working in orthopaedic clinics, performing various dressings and pin site care, applying different splints and casts, advanced casting techniques, andvenapuncture.
Applicants will be a Registered nurse and although orthopaedic experience is preferred it is not necessary as full training will be provided. Support will also be given to staff to develop professionally.
Good communication skills and team working are essential andthe successful applicant should be able to work under their initiative when needed.
