(pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation. About the area College Services provides academic administration and technical support to UWA’s schools, supporting their research and teaching objectives. Within this structure, the Technical Services team offers specialist knowledge and skills across various disciplines. The Design and Manufacturing Centre provides expert design, prototyping, and manufacturing capabilities to enhance the University’s research and academic goals. About the opportunity Support the design and manufacture of prototypes, equipment, and instrumentation for teaching and research purposes. Work hands-on with mechanical fitting, manual machining, welding, woodwork, and CNC machining. Contribute to the maintenance and servicing of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards. About you Relevant tertiary qualification, technical trade qualification, or demonstrated equivalent competency. Substantial relevant technical experience, particularly in machining, fitting, and manufacturing. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to train staff and students in practical workshop settings. Experience in CAM or conversational programming (highly desirable). Special Requirements Current ‘C’ class manual driver’s licence. Current (or eligibility to obtain) Forklift licence. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role. Some after-hours work may be required.
