Wyre Council is looking for an ambitious and driven individual who wants to widen their skillset both academically and through practical experience.
By joining our team as an Information Governance Apprentice, you’ll play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive data, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, and supporting the efficient and effective use of information across our organisation. During your time with us, you’ll work alongside the Information Governance team and study part-time for a professional qualification covering all aspects of data protection, freedom of information, and information management. This apprenticeship will provide you with a strong foundation for a rewarding career in this fast-changing field.
As an apprentice in the Information Governance team, you’ll work across different council departments to ensure information requests are answered fully and promptly as well as supporting internal teams to manage their information safely and effectively including through the use of new technologies. Your work will also help protect the personal information of our residents championing the rights of our citizens under data protection and related legislation.
The apprenticeship will last for two years.
Minimum Requirements
The successful candidates will need to have;
* A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) 9-4 or A*-C including English and Maths
* Experience of using software packages such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
* Accuracy and attention to detail
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to use initiative to solve problems
* A desire to learn and progress
