£90 - £100 per day
Pearson Whiffin Education seeks a long-term SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school in Longfield, Kent. The position starts ASAP and runs through to July.
In this role, you will work partly in the school's SEND unit and partly alongside the same students in mainstream classes. Your role will mix 1:1 work with small group sessions. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding a child during their time at school, ensuring they attend lessons and achieve their best outcomes.
Your responsibilities as an Learning Support Assistant will include:
* Provide 1:1 support for secondary age students in an SEND provision and in mainstream classes
* Ensure the students attendance at all lessons
* Supporting students in their learning in a way that suits their needs
* Managing their behaviour to ensure the best possible learning outcomes
* Assisting with maintaining a safe and positive environment throughout the school
* Being alert to, and responding to any safeguarding or pastoral concerns
