Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Reddish Hall School, Stockport SK5 6UY
Salary: £20,906.25 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join our close-knit team at Reddish Hall School, part of Acorn Education.
Job Purpose
To provide a high-quality education support service to Service Users in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
1. Support the class teacher/tutor to ensure the delivery of a high-quality education for all students.
2. Implement all relevant education policies and procedures in full.
3. Provide relevant and appropriate support to students, on an individual or group basis, to enable them to access the curriculum as independently as possible.
4. Promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational, and moral development of the students.
5. Ensure that the available equipment and resources are used, stored, and maintained efficiently, reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.
6. Organise the classroom, its resources, student groupings, and displays to provide a stimulating learning environment appropriate for students with autistic spectrum disorder.
7. Assist the teacher/tutor in writing, updating, implementing, and evaluating documentation relating to individual students, including Behavior Support Profiles, Individual Risk Assessments, Individual Education Plans, Communication Profiles, and Pastoral Support Plans.
8. Work collaboratively with the class teacher and/or class tutor to ensure the safety of students, in line with risk assessments, while both on and off site.
9. Produce appropriate and effective resources/teaching aids at the request of the class teacher and/or tutor.
10. Contribute as a member of the School’s multi-professional team, ensuring good working relationships with colleagues.
11. Support the care team through participation in the morning routine for students, including preparation for school and personal care as appropriate.
12. Work with and manage challenging behavior, enabling Service Users to develop self-control.
13. Maintain regular communication both informally and in meetings, ensuring the individual needs of the student are being met effectively.
14. Safeguard all students and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
15. Communicate effectively with care staff to ensure a consistent approach and to provide a daily link between School and Home.
16. Liaise with staff from other departments to provide a consistent approach to all aspects of Service User education and care.
