Position: Sheetmetal Fabricator Welder.
The company is a small specialised engineering company that is looking to expand their engineering and manufacturing team. They are seeking to strengthen the team with an experienced sheet metal fabricator welder.
This role reports into the Works Manager Foreman and is responsible for producing high-quality, cost-effective fabrications in support of the business, for new and used machinery.
The company operates on a 39-hour work week - Mon - Thurs 07:00 - 16:00 & Fri 07:00 - 12:00.
Hourly rate is circa £18.00, depending upon skills and experience. The company is flexible and would be happy to consider a higher salary to attract the right candidate. Please do not let salary be a reason not to discuss this role, the company, and the opportunity.
All our welders are coded, and the same requirement applies to any new hires. We will provide coding when we next requalify our team.
The Role:
1. Work from drawings and sketches as applicable.
2. Fabricate stainless and mild steel sheet and sections.
3. Weld using MIG, TIG, and Manual Metal Arc.
4. Perform manual cutting with plasma and flame cut methods.
5. Weld to insurance standards (BS5500/ BS EN 286); competence measured by in-house testing (Coded Welders only).
6. Translate drawn requirements into manufactured components in the most efficient manner.
7. Work to written manufacturing instructions.
8. Collaborate closely with other fabricator/welders and staff to ensure optimum production efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Maintain a clean and orderly workplace environment compatible with an open workshop facility.
10. Use appropriate hand-held and powered tools and equipment as applicable in the execution of the tasks.
11. Demonstrate welding and fabrication skills such as cutting, marking out, squaring off, bending, etc.
12. Proficiently use guillotine, rolls, brake press, and hand tools as necessary.
