Job Description
Direct Line Group (DLG) is currently recruiting for Senior Risk Managers for our Chief Controls Office (CCO) who are part of the first line supporting risk assessment, reporting, and embedding. This role provides a unique opportunity to be part of a group of skilled risk professionals that are redeveloping the end-to-end risk and control framework.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead on risk management in the assigned business area, acting as a key partner to the Executive/SMF.
2. Ensure DLG fosters a culture of risk awareness and controls.
3. Deliver risk frameworks, control reviews, and risk profile design.
4. Define key actions and lead initiatives supporting CCO and the wider business.
5. Drive root cause resolution of control failures and gaps.
6. Develop methods to identify key risks affecting operations and compliance.
7. Build relationships at all levels with excellent stakeholder management skills.
8. Communicate complex topics simply and effectively.
9. Manage multiple conflicting priorities, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
10. Present impactful information to drive customer and business outcomes.
11. Drive first line risk and assurance governance objectives.
12. Own Workiva (risk system) and ensure quality outputs from risk teams.
13. Develop and deliver compliance reports for organizational use.
14. Stay updated with emerging technologies and regulatory changes.
15. Lead and mentor a team of Risk and Compliance specialists.
16. Drive collaboration across risk functions and operational teams.
17. Maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners.
18. Support regulatory requirements and internal standards.
19. Collaborate with Central Control Testing & Assurance Teams.
20. Conduct risk deep dives including process reviews and impact assessments.
21. Lead governance, risk, and assurance initiatives.
22. Exhibit strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
23. Engage people and cultivate a transparent risk culture.
Minimum Requirements:
Significant Risk and Controls experience in a highly regulated business environment, ideally in the Insurance industry.
