We have an exciting opportunity for Rotational Band 6 Physiotherapists at our Wythenshawe site. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward-thinking, and dynamic physiotherapists to join our Band 6 rotations, with the ability to work flexibly and well as part of a team.
You will be able to undertake advanced physiotherapeutic assessments of patients with a diverse and often complex presentation. You will require excellent clinical reasoning to develop and deliver individual treatment programs and be able to plan safe and timely discharges. You will manage your own caseload while supporting more junior staff, assistants, students, and team leaders.
Rotations are currently 8 months and provide a wide variety of clinical opportunities including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Burns and Plastics, General Surgery, Musculoskeletal Outpatients, Stroke Rehabilitation, Orthopaedics, Thoracic Medicine, Cystic Fibrosis, Long Term Ventilation, Complex Health & Medicine, Complex Airways, Community Respiratory Team.
The department is committed to CPD and moving the Government's initiatives forward. Applicants must have a broad range of postgraduate experience. They should also be enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic, and a team player.
Main duties of the job
1. To help deliver a comprehensive physiotherapy service to patients in the area of specialty that you are working in.
2. To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessments of patients with a diverse and often complex presentation. You will require excellent clinical reasoning to develop and deliver individual treatment programs and plan appropriate discharges, and be able to prioritize clinical need.
3. To be responsible for organizing and managing your own caseload to meet service needs and patient priorities.
4. Support, appraise, and educate more junior staff, rehabilitation assistants, and students.
5. Support your team leaders and deputize as required.
6. To have excellent communication skills with patients, relatives, and be able to show empathy and understanding.
7. Work as part of the therapy team and wider MDT demonstrating excellent communication skills.
8. Maintain confidentiality, dignity, and professionalism at all times.
9. To participate in the weekend and on-call rotas as departmental policy.
10. To maintain your professional standards of practice and codes of conduct and ensure any staff under your supervision maintain these as well.

Qualifications
* BSc Physiotherapy MSc or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy
* HCPC registration
* Evidence of CPD
* Relevant postgraduate course
* Membership of relevant specialist interest groups
* Member of CSP
Experience
* Previous postgraduate clinical experience
* Broad range of postgraduate clinical experience as a Band 5 in a rotational post
* Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Supervision and education of less experienced staff, assistants, and students
* Involvement with audit and research
* Membership of department/Trust groups e.g. Health and Safety
* Previous band 6 experience
Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, carers, and colleagues.
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills - clinical reasoning.
* Effective written communication skills e.g. clinical records, reports.
