Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion.
Deputy Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused, and much more.
Summary Statement
The Delaware Department of Justice is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated individual to join the Forfeiture Unit within the Criminal Division as a Deputy Attorney General (DAG). While the Forfeiture Unit of the Criminal Division has state-wide responsibility, this position could be located out of Kent County or Sussex County.
This position has been established in response to Delaware House Bill 280, an act to amend Titles 11 and 16 of the Delaware Code regarding Civil Asset Forfeiture. The selected candidate will play a critical role in implementing and supporting the provisions of this legislation, prosecuting drug and violent crimes and civil forfeiture cases in Kent and Sussex Counties.

Pay Grade A20 DAG V Salary Range $118,238/min $122,920/max
* The salary of $83,252 for the Deputy Attorney General I position applies to candidates who are admitted to the Delaware Bar.
Job Requirements
Strengths include the ability to evaluate cases, determine appropriate resolutions, communicate in concise oral and written communications, and anticipate legal issues. The applicant must be well-versed in search and seizure law and have an understanding of drug investigations/prosecutions and forfeiture law and procedure. The applicant must have or be able to develop a good working relationship with other Deputy Attorneys General, investigators, support staff, court personnel, and police agencies. Prior experience in criminal prosecution or civil litigation is highly desirable. Membership in the Delaware Bar is required.
