A talented B2B editorial director with a nose for a story who can ensure SJR is seen as a leading agency in digital content. Equal parts editor and writer, strategist and creative thinker, manager and collaborator, you will be able to create exceptional stories working with market leading clients in sectors such as finance, health, tech and energy. We need an experienced agency player who knows how to drive new organic growth opportunities, working in partnership with client services on building relationships with clients, advising them on new opportunities and working with them on strategic planning. You ’ll set the tone for our success, both inside the agency and with our clients. Whether it ’ s building a content strategy or presenting a pitch, you ’ll leverage your experience to deliver compelling narratives that reflect the client’s key messages while challenging the conventional ways of telling it. You have the leadership and soft skills to both build client relationships and nurture and develop those reporting to you. And while you excel at working independently, you are also highly collaborative, happy to work closely with the creative, analytics and client services’ teams to consistently bring creative solutions to the table. You will have experience working with clients on editorial strategies and execution for one or more of the following sectors: B2B Finance, Energy, Tech, Health/Pharma. Who are you? As a senior member of the Editorial team, you will be expected to embody the values of the company – leading with empathy while delivering exceptional work. Reporting to the Head of Editorial, you will p lay in a leading role in a close-knit team of 7 editor s. You enjoy being hands-on with the work, and building lasting client relationships. You have experience in: Developing content strategies for clients, from analysing the audience and competitive landscape, to ideating assets, formats and activation strategies. Producing industry leading content, upholding the highest editorial standards, and nurturing our team to do the same. Always pushing content innovation – across strategies, formats and narratives. Being a leading member of the client team, working closely, collaboratively and effectively with Client Services, Strategy and Creative. What you will do: Content Strategy and leadership (50%) Leads and grows client relationship s from an editorial and ideation perspective Ensures best-in-class content from concept to execution, making sure all output delivers against client brief and editorial strategy Provides strategic and editorial feedback on creative concepts and content topics working closely with the Creative and Client services teams Plays a key role in working on editorial strategy for new business opportunities Inspires client with high-level narratives and conceptual, big thinking Presents creative concepts to client with a view of converting concepts into sales Proactively provides client with strategic insight by keeping abreast of client's business, emerging industry trends and topic areas with an aim to be ahead of the curve on innovative storytelling Nurtures and supports the Editorial team: Serves as an effective role model and mentor to team members, modelling and advocating for SJR's creative culture and values Closely manages editors, providing regular and constructive feedback and working with them to develop their skillsets to advance their careers Inspires the team to develop creative concepts that will enable the expansion of client relationships and create new growth opportunities.
