Key Responsibilities: Conduct fault-finding diagnostics and repair of mechanical systems. - Report defects in plant, equipment and building fabric promptly - Ensure high standards of workmanship and keep detailed service records - Coordinate resources, including labour, materials, and transportation. - Operate the Estates/Facilities management system, completing job records and timesheets. - Provide technical guidance to colleagues, apprentices, and contractors. - Liaise with ward/department managers to arrange maintenance access. - Ensure personal development through training and learning new techniques. Working Environment: - Exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, body fluids, and sewage. - Moderate to heavy physical work, including lifting and working at height - Frequent concentration needed for fault-finding and interpreting drawings. - Adherence to infection control protocols when working in clinical areas. Communication and Working Relationships:Internal: - Site and Departmental Managers, Ward Staff, Fire Officers, Clients, H&S Officers, Patients and Visitors. External: - Suppliers and Contractors
