Job Title: Senior Town Planner Location: Blackburn Salary: Up to £65,000 (Dependent on Experience) plus 10% bonus About the Role: I am currently working with one of my clients who are actively seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Town Planner to join their growing team. In this role, you'll work closely with the Director of Development and take ownership of a diverse portfolio of exciting projects. Your primary focus will be securing planning consents for developments, including roadside services, EV charging ports and mixed-use sites. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, managing the planning process from start to finish, and overseeing post-planning requirements. This is a great opportunity to make a significant impact on our developments and advance your career in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment. what the role entails: ·Conduct in-depth research and analysis of planning policies and project histories to inform proposals and documentation. ·Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, coordinating planning submissions, scoping, and consultant appointments. ·Oversee post-application management and resolve challenges to ensure successful outcomes. ·Develop and present arguments to overcome planning policy objections. ·Liaise with the Acquisitions team and work closely with Project Managers for planning reviews. ·Build and maintain strong relationships with developers and stakeholders. ·Submit and manage Section 73 applications and in-house management. ·Negotiate commercial terms for Section 106 agreements, working with solicitors for swift closures. ·Conduct consultant framework reviews and attend team meetings with consultants and Project Managers. ·Review draft planning conditions and advise on technical planning matters. ·Manage Condition Discharge submissions and work with the Highway Manager and Project Manager to provide required work packages. ·Handle enforcement matters and oversee the appeals process. ·Mentor and support the development of the Graduate Planner, enhancing their performance and skills. Skills required for the role: ·Proven experience as a Town Planner, ideally within a planning consultancy or similar environment. ·Strong ability to interpret and assess reports, maps, and environmental impact studies. ·Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). ·Excellent understanding of UK planning legislation and policies. ·A track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously. ·Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
