About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistants to work across local Nurseries and Primary schools within the Taunton area. This is an exciting opportunity to support children in their foundational years of education, helping them to develop the skills, confidence, and enthusiasm they need to thrive in school and beyond.
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with schools Early Years teams to deliver high-quality learning experiences in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment. You will support the teachers in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, ensuring each child's individual needs are met and helping them to develop emotionally, socially, and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive learning activities based on the EYFS curriculum.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, helping them to achieve their individual learning targets.
- Support children with personal care and help create a positive, caring environment.
- Observe and track children's progress and share insights with the class teacher.
- Work alongside the team to promote positive behaviour and social development.
- Encourage children's independence, curiosity, and love of learning.
- Foster strong relationships with children, parents, and staff members.
- Assist with classroom organisation and the preparation of resources.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience working with children, preferably within an EYFS setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- A commitment to supporting every child's individual needs and development
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
