As a Graduate Fire Consultant (FRA) you will focus on developing your knowledge and skills to be able to undertake the successful delivery of high-quality FRAEWs (Fire Risk Assessment External Wall Surveys), as commissioned through Bellrock brands. We would expect you to have a related Degree in Building Surveying or Fire Engineering already. And then we would coach you through a series of practical tuition and shadowing, combined with technical input and guidance over a graduated programme to become confident and competent to undertake this level of work. You will gain the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to be able to support the Principal and specialist team that we are developing. This will also included funded CPD and formal Courses to consolidate your learning. Within role, you will receive mentoring from other members of the team, where needed, through the coordination and delivery of CPD activities, as part of a cooperative team environment, sharing their knowledge. In time, you would be responsible for producing reports to a high quality of technical accuracy and submitting them in a timely manner in line with Company objectives. This is all captured on both Word templates and an intuitive SaaS platform with templated approaches upon which we apply the PAS9980 framework approach. Our established clients are mostly across the Housing sector with multiple repeat contracts. We also have a dedicated scheduling point of contact to support you, so you would receive ample notice of forthcoming work to allow you to plan accordingly. We also have a dedicated inhouse Quality Assurance team and a Fire administration team who provide back-office assurance and support. How will you be the change? Manage the day-to-day delivery of your work to the required level of quality and accuracy and be proactive in seeking ways of improving our service delivery Assist in the creation and development of reporting outputs, survey methodologies and project management tasks. Assist in supporting sustainable Service growth, statutory compliance and governance, client and staff retention, and development of our client base. Work collaboratively and be involved in the delivery of content at Fire Division CPD events Maintaining your own CPD and knowledge levels of technical aspects and legislation updates What does it take? Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including a good telephone manner ensuring client relationships are constantly met with exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workloads and manage working time effectively. Maintain sound understanding of current legislation and evolving legislation to advise clients accordingly. Have strong report writing skills and a keen eye for attention to detail. Good negotiation skills based on technical, commercial, and financial acumen. Hold a minimum of Degree level in Building Surveying or Fire Engineering Understanding of Building Pathology and various Construction types Experience and understanding of passive fire protection systems. Aware of the Building Safety Act 2022 Awareness of PAS9980 and the context of why FRAEWs are required Up to date understanding of relevant fire legislation- namely- The Fire Safety Order; Fire Safety Act; Fire Safety England Regulations; Building Safety Act. In so far as they impact the reporting scope for FRAs and impact on HRBs in England.
