Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Trumpf Press Brake Operator to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating Trumpf press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to precise specifications. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the press brake machine while ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality guidelines, and production targets. Main Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate Trumpf press brake machines to bend and shape sheet metal components in accordance with blueprints, work orders, or technical drawings. Quality Control: Inspect formed parts to ensure compliance with specifications, dimensions, and surface quality. Use precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and protractors to ensure accuracy. Tooling & Adjustments: Select, install, and adjust press brake dies, tools, and fixtures to accommodate different material types, thicknesses, and bending angles. Production Efficiency: Monitor production runs to ensure timely completion and minimal machine downtime. Adjust machine settings for optimal performance as needed. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures while operating the press brake, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform basic machine maintenance, clean the press brake, and troubleshoot operational issues to reduce downtime. Notify the maintenance team of any mechanical malfunctions. Documentation: Complete necessary production records, including logs for parts produced, machine settings, and maintenance activities. Collaboration: Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines, quality requirements, and troubleshoot any challenges that arise during operations. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements by suggesting methods to enhance productivity, quality, and machine utilisation. Qualifications & Skills: Proven experience operating Trumpf press brake machines or similar CNC-controlled bending machines. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, bending techniques, and tool setup. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production. Proficiency in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and protractors. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for machine and production issues. Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality control. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to lift and manoeuvre materials as needed and perform physical tasks related to machine operation. Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment is a plus.
