Indirect Procurement Governance Lead
Location: Edinburgh (preferred)
Number of Hours: 37 hrs
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Governance Specialist to work in our LGS UK Indirect Procurement Team. This preferred location is based at our Edinburgh facility, but the candidate can be located at any UK site, operating across all Leonardo UK sites, with interaction with LGS in Italy. The Governance Lead will be responsible for ensuring a common set of UK Procurement and Commercial governance is deployed across the UK Indirect Procurement Team, in both Electronics and Helicopters divisions to ensure Procurement compliance.
Reporting directly to the Procurement Services Manager in Edinburgh, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing UK wide Governance, ensuring compliance to Corporate and divisional requirements for the Procurement of a wide range of indirect goods and services (categories).
Responsible for ensuring our existing spend analytics process and spend governance is managed through data analysis from SAP ERP systems and Leonardo Spend Analytics Tool.
The role will give access to stakeholders at all levels in the business and across multiple sites and provides an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to demonstrate their ability to succeed.
Key Responsibility Areas
* To focus on the achievement of business and individual costs savings in line with Corporate Industrial Plan targets, ensuring all cost reduction opportunities are managed in line with our UK LGS Cost Reductions Register and process.
* Responsible for ensuring our existing spend analytics process and spend governance is managed and delivered in conjunction with internal SAP and Leonardo Spend Analytics data.
* Responsible for ensuring Indirect Procurement demonstrated performance measurement, designing and implementing suitable KPI and SLA measurement for strategic reporting purposes.
* The Governance Lead and ‘go-to’ reference point in support of any Internal Audit, leading on all matters relating to LGS UK Indirect Procurement Procedures and governance in line with Corporate and UK Procurement and Commercial business governance, maintaining required records to ensure compliance in support of any internal audit.
* Working closely with our LGS UK Indirect procurement Team to provide awareness of procedures and governance that are currently in place to ensure Procurement compliance in accordance with Corporate and local directives.
* To actively identify opportunities for improvement in all aspects of LGS UK Indirect Procurement Procedures and Governance and to drive their implementation.
* Required to work closely with LGS UK Management Team, Category Managers, Buyers and stakeholders to monitor category activity, helping to identify any procedural or governance issues that require change.
* To enhance the reputation of LGS Indirect procurement through reacting tactfully and professionally to stakeholder issues, passing relevant issues to the Category or Procurement Specialist owners while supporting them actively in resolution.
* To be ‘an ambassador’ for LGS UK Indirect Procurement, communicating to stakeholders our capability and the services provided by LGS Procurement and the required governance that supports the successful delivery of our services.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge
* Strong analytical skills.
* Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyse data and provide management with meaningful analytics.
* ERP SAP systems minimum knowledge.
* Good communicator (both written and oral), a good team player with an open and flexible approach.
* Demonstrable understanding of writing and understanding Procurement procedures and guides and helping to implement them.
* Ability to work independently with senior stakeholders in a complex, multi-disciplined environment, with the ability to facilitate meetings and conference calls and to resolve internal issues with internal stakeholders and customers across multi functions, at all levels.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Procurement/Commercial function or a similar Governance position, ideally with experience of governance and procedures.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent is desirable but not essential, depending on experience.
* Demonstrable ability to deliver analytical output and high levels of service to stakeholders.
Intrinsic Job Factors
* 37 hours per week.
* Tight deadlines regular or ad-hoc.
* Flexible working from home, in line with Leonardo HR Working from Home Policy. You will need to be on site 2 days a week.
* Occasional UK travel.
