Job description - the role
Our client, Deutsche Bank, is a global banking business with strong roots in Germany and operations in over 70 countries. Their large but focused footprint gives them an established position in Europe plus a significant presence in the Americas and Asia Pacific. Deutsche Bank offer their clients commercial and investment banking, retail banking and transaction banking as well as ground-breaking asset and wealth management products and services.
On behalf of Deutsche Bank, AMS are now looking for a Regulatory Control Senior Advisor to work in their Central Compliance team based in Birmingham (3 days in the office) on a PAYE basis.
We are looking for a motivated Compliance professional to join our Cross Border Compliance team. Our team sits in the Compliance Department and is responsible for maintaining the bank's cross border risk management framework. You will be responsible for reviewing legal updates from the various countries in which the bank operates and ensuring that our cross border guidelines are kept up-to-date as laws or regulation change. These are country guidelines which are designed to give clear, concise and practical guidance about the rules and regulations applicable in the countries where the bank does business.
Key responsibilities:
* Reviewing legal updates from our vendors and assessing the impacts they may have on our businesses.
* Making appropriate amendments to cross-border guideline documents to reflect changes in law/regulation and collaborating with and consulting internal stakeholders who will be impacted.
* Becoming a subject matter expert for cross border issues within the bank to provide support and guidance to our businesses.
* Assisting in the delivery of cross border training.
* Building effective working relationships with colleagues across the bank.
* Working, as needed, on change-the-bank initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
* You will be an experienced professional in the banking / financial services sector (candidates with backgrounds in Compliance, Legal or AFC roles are encouraged to apply). Experience of cross border/regulatory is preferred but not critical
* You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; you are someone that enjoys building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders.
* You have an interest in Compliance and are looking to become part of a Compliance team.
